Mr. Yancy Jerome Hopkins, affectionally called “Weasel” by family and friends, life began December 30,1959, in ST. Louis, Missouri. He was born to the late John L. Hopkins, Sr. and Marlene Turner. On December 3, 2020, he made his transition to be with the Lord, receiving his complete healing and no longer in pain.
Yancy grew up in St. Louis City and University City, Missouri where he was educated in both public school systems. Yancy loved his family, (especially, the St. Louis crew) Karate, singing, and preaching.Yancy accepted Christ at a young age and was a member of Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church in St. Louis, Missouri. He moved to Columbus, Ohio where he was a member of Praise Deliverance Ministries.Later, he spent time in California where he was involved in several ministries, served in the office of a Prophet and was known as “The Preacher Man”.Yancy spent his latter years in Columbus, Ohio with his mother Marlene. And family. He served in the office of a Prophet with Praise Deliverance Ministries, until his transition.
Yancy fought a 5 year battle with Kidney disease and decreasing heart function.His final 14 days were spent in OSU-East Hospital’s-ICU where they gave him the best medical care. He also attended the Dialysis Center on East Broad Street and he had a special transportation driver. Thank you to the chaplain who was with Yancy Jerome during his transition, so that he was not alone. Thank you to all the doctors, nurses and caregivers for taking care of our love one during this time of the COVID-19 pandemic. May the Lord bless you all and keep you all safe.
He was preceded in death by his brother Lawrence Hill, grandmother, Velma Turner, and father, John L. Hopkins, Sr..

Hopkins, Jr. Sister: Johnetta (Jimmy) Smith, A Special PaPa’s girl-a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends, each one dear to him in their own way.
