Jones (Elsie), sister Willie Mary Jones and his brother John E. Jones (Pauline). He leaves to cherish his memory, his son Wellington Jones, Jr., his daughters Dorothy Sutton, Diane Jones and Carolyn Jones, and his sisters Clara Thigpen, Eva Nell Welch, Martha A. Black and Wilma R. Bradley (Ronald) and his brothers Claude L. Jones (Theresa), Charles C. Growing up Sonnyboy was a hard-working man and he helped his parents pick cotton and work on the farm in Hazlehurst, Mississippi. He was baptized at a very early age in Hazlehurst, Mississippi and in his later years he recommitted his life to Christ, joined and attended Zion Hill Baptist Church in Columbus, Ohio under the leadership of the Reverend James Mitchell where he served as an Usher until he became ill and was no longer able to attend church. Prior to living in Columbus, Ohio and still living in Hazlehurst, Mississippi, he joined the Army where he completed his Military Service and later he met the love of his life Merdith Martin after courting her for several years he decided he was going to ask her to be his wife.  She of course accepted his proposal and after marrying his bride, he decided that they were going to move up north to Ohio and in the 1950’s he moved his family to Columbus, Ohio and he and his wife continued to grow their family. He later became a business owner and he had a wonderful full life before retiring. He loved his family and he instilled strong family values and good morals in all of his children so much so that they served him well until the day that he entered into his Eternal Heavenly Reward
