Sarah McCray-Jordan born July 7, 1927 affectionately called "Lady" peacefully entered into rest through the loving arms of our heavenly Father Jesus Christ Sunday morning June 6, 2021.
Sarah was a loving and kind person who was devoted to the service of the Lord Jesus Christ and frequently ministered to friends, family and anyone around her who would listen especially in her condo on Mock Rd and the nurses and residents at the Ohio Veterans Home. A devoted member of the Jordan Bible Church for over 35 years where she served on the Mothers Board, as Deaconess, member of the Senior Choir, Mass Choir, Unified Voices of Praise and friday night feedings of the homeless shelter. A member of the Jenkins Terrace Singers of 1100 E. Broad St. An avid fisherman she would frequent Buckeye Lake and Hoover Dam several times a week many of those times with young Tony in tow. A veteran of The United States Air Force where she served as a cook and infirmary nurse. And also a nurse in a maternity ward nursery upon returning home. She retired from Augsburg Christian Bookstore. Sarah loved to travel living in several states before she found permanent home in Columbus, Ohio. She loved to travel so much she became a member of the Jordan Journey Club and continued to travel with her daughter-in-law thereafter.
Preceded in death by her loving husband of 43 years Mack Jordan, son James Tyree Jordan, mother Sarah Kennedy-McCray, father Arthur McCray, sister Orabell Kennedy-Johnson, brother Karl Kennedy, great niece Min. Sylvia M. Hicks, and great great nephew Michael E. Hicks. Sarah leaves to cherish her beloved memory niece Nazerine Hicks, great nieces Angela and Rita Hicks, great great nephew Antonio M. (Tiffany) Hicks, great great great nieces Alayna M. Hicks, Isabella N. Hicks, Maxine (little max) Hicks, great great great nephews. Dion, Mickel, little Michael, Jordan, Jeffrey, Kayden and Antonio; daughter-in-law Mary Jordan. Best friends Evangelist Barbara Stanley and long time fishing buddy Mother Virginia Reames and a host of other family and friends, The Cummings family, Pastor Wayne T. Lee Jr. and family and the entire Jordan Bible Church family. Sarah will be greatly missed and loved by all who knew and loved her. A special thanks to The Ohio Veterans Home nursing staff who cared for her in her final days so diligently and the staff of Wayne T. Lee Funeral Service for their unwavering support and comfort during this time of bereavement.
