JAMES ANDRE' GILBERT

James Andrè Gilbert was born on February 19, 1962 and departed this life on Saturday, January 16, 2021.

He was born at University Hospital (OSU), attended Indianola Elementary, Crestview Middle, and graduated from Beechcroft High School. From Lockhead International( GA) Andre' went on to graduate from The Spartan School of Aeronautics (Tulsa, OK).  He then went on to graduate from The Spartan School of Aeronautics (Tulsa, OK), achieving positions as a PowerPlant Technician and an AirFrame Technician; he was also a part of an award-winning FIF Top Deck Crew at Rockwell International.

Returning to Columbus, he soon met his wife of 29 years Jenise Maire Harper in an HVAC class. Also going on to have an astounding career that stood out amongst his peers in that field.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Irene Stewart-Hill, and Marion Major Gilbert; siblings; Chester Thomas Jr, and Marion (Boo) Gilbert, & son Andrè Dupree Gilbert.

He is survived by his wife Jenise Gilbert; siblings; Vanita Thomas, Cynthia Thomas, Stephanie Gilbert; sister-in-law Terry (Chester) Thomas; 

children Desmand Chapman, Jabu Woodard, Rememba (Patryckk) Woodard-Taylor, Tariq Gilbert, Nande Gilbert, Malcolm Gilbert, and Joye Gilbert; grandchildren; Sarai, A’Zianna, Whitnee, Aniya, Desmand Jr, Jabu Jr, Tariq Jr, (Autyonna, Javon, Destiny), and a host of nieces and nephews.
