D’Coria E.A.M. Wells

More affectionately known as “true”, 28 of Columbus ,Oh was called home on Friday June 3rd, 2022. D’Coria was  born Jan 14. 1994 in Southaven Mississippi, a son of Hector and Mary Thornton. He received Christ at the age of 12. D'Coria attended the Charles School and later graduated from Urban Scholars Academy. Then after he started his business known as “Continue Elevating Kings”.

Cory was a member of New Birth Christian Ministry. Everyone who came in contact with Cory loved his contagious laugh and his life changing smile. He loved to dance , write poetry, and play chess. Cory enjoyed fishing as he started at the age of 2 with his father and carried the baton over to his wife and kids. A great youth mentor and a great man. He loved to watch and draw anime in his free time, he even name his two kittens after his favorite characters. D'Coria loved his family. He spent most of his days with his wife and kids ,  His happiness was endless. Cory loved his dogs who he trained , precious wells and Millz peanut butter wells (Poodie) who fought with him in his life fight and now lay at his side.

Cory leaves to celebrate his life and legacy, his pride and joy, his wife Jayla Thompson-Wells; his sons Hezekiah Wells and Jeremiah Wells; His onliest girls Aniyah Carter and Kailena Suarez; his beloved mother Mary P. Thornton; his siblings, Alonzia Wells, Labundia Wells, Joanta Wells, and Hector Thornton. A host of nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins; his great nieces and nephews who affectionately called him “umphy”; and an extended brother Joseph Caldwell (NATO ) and a bestfriend Erica Banks.

He is preceded in death by his daughter Milani Wells , his father Hector Thornton Sr., paternal grandfather Henry Thornton, maternal grandfather Jimmy Wells and a cousin Kjuan Wells. Dcoria will forever be missed and his legacy will live on through his family ,friends, and all who knew him.
