Mr. Charles Eugene (Charlie Brown) Johnson was born on March 13, 1952. He entered into his eternal rest on Thursday, October 6, 2022 at home.
Charles attended Columbus Public Schools for the majority of his education, then he transitioned into Trade School. Trade School is where he found his passion, self-contracting. He worked for North Steppe Company for many years. But that wasn’t where his heart was. He eventually went back to self-contracting. He was very good with his hands. He loved to build, rehab homes, paint, and most of all work on cars. If you needed it done you could count on him to do it.
Charles was always his own man. He lived by the beat of his own drum. He was a family man by all means. Very loving, kind, caring, inspiring, giving, and knowledgeable. He showed in how He taught everyone around him his passion. He built wheeler motorcycles.
Charles is preceded in death by his mother Gaile Johnson; father, Cecil Johnson and granddaughter Brooklyn Summerall. He is survived by his loving wife, Fayetta Smith-Johnson; his children, Antonio Johnson, Elaine Johnson, Shawna Johnson, Tyson McNelly, Tracy McNelly and Jordan Johnson; brother, Richard (Geraldine) Johnson; sisters, Betty (Robert) Hines, Saundra (Frank) Harris, Gloria (Sherman) Watson, Doris (Benny) Mitchel; 16 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren, and a host of other family and friends.
